Lisa was born in Detroit, Michigan. Her father was a builder and interior designer, her mother was a professional model, then later owned a modeling agency. They were young, very stylish, parents. Lisa was their first child of two children.From the time Lisa was very young she loved anything bright that sparkled!!! She would carry colorful beads and stones in her pockets to school and come home with embellished pencils, erasers, and lunch boxes she had crafted with paste at her desk. She loved to create and accessorize original outfits, often inspiring new trends. While attending Wayne State University in Detroit Lisa worked as a sales associate and buyer for a popular Detroit men's clothing store . Those experiences evolved into working in the wholesale market as a manufacturers representative for companies such as Faded Glory to Calvin Klein, she then moved to Los Angeles. After developing successful business relationships with buyers and store owners Lisa began designing her own clothing and accessory lines. This proved to be a hit in such stores as Fred Segal, Henri Bendel, Lisa Kline and Revolve Clothing - as well as with stylists and celebrity clientele. She has been fortunate to work with them designing and coordinating clothing and accessories for television, films and music videos. During which time Lisa taught fashion design and merchandising at the acclaimed Brooks College in Southern California. Lisa Freede launched her unique jewelry collection in 2004 designing the 'perfect' everywhere earrings and crystal motorcycle chain link
necklaces. Lisa creates trend with her special blend
of simplicity, glam rock and classic couture.
Lisa has recently become a designer expert on the Bravo Networks "The Fashion Show". Lisa Freede has been named by the "New York Times" as a designer to watch for and has been featured in fashion publications worldwide. To Lisa, her greatest achievement are her two beautiful daughters. Lisa currently resides in Houston, Texas and Los Angeles, California. Pronunciation: Lisa Free-d. |
